While it’s that time of year when almost everyone under the age of 22 is going back to school, Language Arts wants you to know that they aren’t this semester’s easy class. Brainchild of Toronto-based guitarist, composer and singer Kristen Cudmore, the band’s newest single “Neighbour,” features catchy guitar licks and melodies that will most definitely be stuck in your head for the rest of the week. “Neighbour” will appear on the band’s sophomore LP Able Island set to be released on October 9th.
“The track was recorded wherever our 'island studio' could be set up,” the band explains, “in bedrooms, basements, hotels, clubs, alleyways, cottages etc.etc - its inspiration is the idea of home and the mystery of the sea, belonging, family roots, loneliness and depression but also finding your footing in the world, making a legacy or just saying fuck it.”
