If you thought rock ’n’ roll was dead, you probably thought correctly, but The Blind Pets might have some serious words for you. The Austin, TX band’s music has a solid surf-rock guitar and an explosive sound that will have you on your feet before you know it. “Up All Night” captures what it’s like to fall in love with someone, to never be able to stop thinking about them, to feel like every moment without them is a waste, and how crazy that can make you.
It’s a sad song disguised behind poppy vocals and a rock ’n’ roll chorus that will be stuck in your head for days.
"This is a song about what runs through your head when you’re in love,” says singer/guitarist Joshua Logan. “I wrote the bones of the song about a year ago after a crazy relationship, thinking of all the times you stay “Up All Night” with your lover. Brought it to our 10 x 15 cinder block practice space where the band sweat it out for hours trying to get it right. The intro was written with Jonas Wilson from The Midnight Stroll at Skeleton Ranch. Hope we finally got something right!”
Don’t worry Joshua, you definitely did. Listen to the song below, then pre-order their album and maybe even get some tickets to their upcoming shows, if you’re feeling wild.
