Back in the '90s, 7 Year Bitch was one of the pioneering bands of the heavy grunge rock scene. On January 15, the band will return with Live at Moe, their first album in nearly two decades. The album will feature drummer Valerie Agnew, vocalist Selene Vigil-Wilk, guitarist Stefanie Sargent and bassist Elizabeth Davis-Simpson, with the addition of Roisin Dunne on guitar. Since 7 Year Bitch has spent quite some time on the road sharing their electric energy and punk rock jams with fans, we got to know what bands really need on the road, courtesy of member Davis-Simpson. Let’s just say, some things are more obvious than others, and 7 Year Bitch is one band you don’t want to fuck with.

HONEYBEAR BONG

Elizabeth Davis-Simpson: Request Honeybears on your rider. Swap ‘em out with your own stem/bowl every couple of days, and you’re good to go.

THROAT COAT TEA

For the day after you’ve hit the Honeybear a whole lot and still need to talk and sing and stuff.

ROCK PEN AND TAPE

If you don’t use this shit on tour, you’re probably not playing the devil’s music.

ENGINEER BOOTS

They’re road-worthy, look badass and you can put stuff in ‘em like smokes, cash, stash, sharpies, other various unmentionables, etc. This is important on tour because who carries a fucking purse? These boots may have even saved my life. Once in Boston, outside The Rat, a crazed crackhead-looking dude started walking very fast and determined in my direction. I reached down into my boot as if to withdraw a knife or something, and he turned around and ran away from me—FAST!

MEDICATED POWDER

Nobody ever really talks about how much time musicians spend sitting on their asses. And that’s ok, but it’s the truth. Powder is a necessity, especially for drummers. Plus you sometimes don’t know when you’re next shower is going to happen.

7 YEAR BITCH PIPE

I normally think it’s kinda cheesy to rock one’s own merch, but (obv) not in this case.
